Ingredients

Method

  1. Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until evenly combined.
  3. Divide the beef mixture into 8 equal portions and roll each into a loose ball.
  4. Place a small amount of vegetable oil in the hot skillet and lay one flour tortilla flat into the skillet.
  5. Place one beef ball on top of the tortilla and use a spatula or burger press to smash the beef flat onto the tortilla, spreading it thin and evenly. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the edges are browned and crispy.
  6. Flip the tortilla and beef patty together, cooking the other side for an additional 1-2 minutes until fully cooked.
  7. Immediately sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the cooked beef to melt slightly.
  8. Repeat the process for the remaining tortillas and beef portions.
  9. Top each Smash Burger Taco with diced onions, sliced pickles, a drizzle of ketchup, and mustard.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a dash of hot sauce or using pepper jack cheese instead of cheddar.
