  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted and cooled)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze, optional)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for glaze, optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze, optional)

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 6-cavity donut pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Fill each donut cavity about two-thirds full with the batter.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
