  • ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamo
  • ½ cup (120ml) milk
  • ¼ cup (60ml) pure maple syrup
  • ¼ cup (56g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 large egg, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups (180g) powdered sugar, sifted
  • ¼ cup (60ml) pure maple syrup
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your donut pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, maple syrup, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, folding gently until just combined.
  5. Fill a piping bag with the batter and pipe into the donut pan cavities, filling them about two-thirds full.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the donuts are golden brown.
  7. Let the donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, and vanilla extract.
  9. Dip the cooled donuts in the glaze and allow to set before serving.
