Method

  1. Cook the Buldak Spicy Chicken Ramen noodles according to the package instructions, using 2 cups of water. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/4 cup of the cooking water.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and egg yolk until smooth. Set this carbonara sauce mixture aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the rendered fat in the skillet.
  4. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in the unsalted butter until melted.
  5. Lower the heat to medium-low and add the cooked noodles to the skillet. Toss well to coat them in the garlic-butter mixture.
  6. Add the carbonara sauce to the noodles, stirring quickly to combine. If the sauce seems thick, add the reserved noodle cooking water a little at a time to achieve your desired consistency.
  7. Sprinkle the Buldak ramen's spicy seasoning packet over the noodles and mix well to evenly distribute the flavor.
  8. Stir in the cooked bacon, and season to taste with salt and black pepper.
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

For a milder version, use less of the Buldak spicy seasoning packet. You can substitute pancetta for bacon if desired.
