Ingredients

Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Whisk
  • chilled mixing bowl
  • Hand mixer
  • mugs

Method

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the milk, pumpkin purée, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt until hot and steaming, but not boiling.
  2. Remove the pan from the heat and carefully whisk or blend the mixture until smooth and frothy.
  3. Stir in the brewed espresso or coffee until fully combined, then divide the latte between two mugs.
  4. In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  5. Top each latte with a generous spoonful of whipped cream.
  6. Finish with a light sprinkle of ground cinnamon and a pinch of pumpkin pie spice, then serve immediately.

Notes

For a sweeter latte, add more brown sugar to taste. If you do not have espresso, strongly brewed coffee works well. For best froth, use an immersion blender or a regular blender carefully with the hot mixture.
