Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • handheld frother
  • Whisk
  • Mixing bowl
  • mug

Method

  1. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a small saucepan, then add the chai tea bags. Reduce heat and let the tea steep for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove the tea bags and stir in the pumpkin puree, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice until well combined. Simmer for 2-3 minutes to meld the flavors.
  3. While the tea is simmering, prepare the cold foam: Combine heavy cream, milk, and powdered sugar in a small bowl. Use a handheld frother or whisk vigorously until thick and frothy.
  4. Pour the pumpkin chai tea into a mug, leaving room at the top for the cold foam.
  5. Gently spoon or pour the cold foam over the chai tea, allowing it to float on top.
  6. Sprinkle a pinch of pumpkin pie spice over the foam for garnish, if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup. For a dairy-free version, substitute the heavy cream and milk with coconut cream and almond milk.
