  1. Brew the chai tea and set it aside.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the milk, pumpkin puree, maple syrup or honey, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth and steaming. Do not let it boil.
  3. Add the brewed chai tea to the saucepan and whisk to combine. Heat for 1 to 2 minutes until hot.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  5. Pour into a mug and top with whipped cream if desired.
  6. Finish with a light dusting of pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon, and serve warm.
