Equipment

  • mug
  • kettle
  • fine mesh strainer
  • Spoon
  • Glass

Method

  1. Steep the chai tea in the hot water for 5 to 7 minutes, depending on how strong you want the flavor.
  2. Remove the tea bags or strain out the loose tea, then stir in the honey or maple syrup, if using, while the tea is still warm.
  3. Let the tea cool slightly, then stir in the vanilla extract and ground cinnamon.
  4. Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour in the chilled almond milk.
  5. Add the cooled chai tea and stir gently to combine.
  6. Top with a light sprinkle of cinnamon and serve immediately.

Notes

For a sweeter drink, use the full amount of honey or maple syrup. You can also substitute dairy milk or oat milk if preferred, and adjust the chai steeping time for a stronger or milder spice flavor.
