Ingredients

Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • spatula or spoon
  • silicone gummy molds
  • Measuring spoons
  • Measuring cup
  • airtight container

Method

  1. Pour the orange juice into a small saucepan and add the honey or maple syrup and lemon juice.
  2. Sprinkle the gelatin evenly over the cold juice and let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes to bloom.
  3. Place the saucepan over low heat and stir gently until the gelatin is fully dissolved. Do not let the mixture boil.
  4. If using, stir in the orange zest for extra flavor.
  5. Carefully pour the mixture into silicone gummy molds or a shallow dish.
  6. Refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours, or until the gummies are firm.
  7. Remove the gummies from the molds or cut them into small pieces if using a dish. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

For a smoother texture, strain the orange juice well before using. If the mixture seems too thick to pour, add a few drops of water to help dissolve the gelatin. Store gummies in the refrigerator and enjoy within a few days.
